Decorative patterned geometric tiles play centre stage in this outstanding project by Brazilian architect Diego Revollo. The 130 sqm apartment, which is located in Alto da Lapa in São Paulo, Brazil, has been radically refurbished by Revollo to create something personal yet unique for the new owner.
With this im mind the architect combined the best of Brazilian with enduring European design influences. Panels of American Walnut used with local Cumaru wood are juxtaposed against a soft textural grey palette, while sculptural furniture and artefacts with transparent elements of lighting are set alongside accessories and timeless design pieces. The entire design was set against a bold backdrop of a fully clad kitchen zone where the tiles are used 360°. The tile is part of the Frame Collection from Italian porcelain company Ceramiche Refin.
A balcony was added and designed as an extension of the living room without having to change the building’s facade. The same tile from the kitchen was used on the floor of the balcony, tying the spaces together.
