After its luminous frescoes of dinosaurs in the streets of Paris, the “Jardin d’Acclimatation” gave free rein to the French artist Julien Nonnon, who literally transforms the park, on his new Digital Art Playground. Until January 5th, 2020 at nightfall, holographic dinosaurs invade the Parisian Garden, for the enjoyment of visitors, young and old, making them experience a “space-time travel” full of surprises in the Jurassic era.
In a night itinerary combining luminous projections, animatronic sculptures, live shows, Prehistoric Safari, an original creation by the artist Julien Nonnon, supported by Rebirth Productions and Wild Immersion, transports us into the extraordinary world of dinosaurs, through the lens of Pop Culture.
Based on its entertainment strategy and innovation, the Jardin d’Acclimatation continues to surprise by welcoming Prehistoric Safari exhibition every night for happy festive season.
With a series of luminous 3D projections of dinosaurs, thanks to the inventive technique of Video-Mapping, Julien Nonnon invites visitors walking the alleyways of Jardin d’Acclimatation to discover T-Rex, Triceratops and other emblematic species of the Cretaceous, in an amazing scenography enhanced by immersive installations, interactive live shows, and many surprises to share a pleasant time with family and friends.
Since the invention of the word “dinosaur” in 1842, these “terrible lizards” have been represented several times in novels, blockbuster movies and TV shows. It is in the same vein that Prehistoric Safari has been designed. To bring out the child sleeping in all of us, the artist takes us back to the Jurassic era, during a colourful and luminous space-time travel.
“For this project, says Nonnon, I was inspired by adventure books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jules Verne and Michael Crichton, as well as Steven Spielberg’s movies.” The artist plays with the codes of prehistoric monsters representation in Popular Culture, thanks to an immersive and original set design.
For this special event, the Jardin d’Acclimatation opens its doors from 6 pm to 10 pm and offers the opportunity to discover 15 holographic animated dinosaurs in life-size, and 4 major attractions customized just for this occasion, such as the ‘Rivière Enchantée’ or the amazing bobsled coaster ‘SpeedRockets’.
Visitors will also be invited to attend to an original show by Igor Vanzane, Dinosaur’s Tamer, followed by the premiere of a French-style mini “blockbuster” Dino Escape, that shows the streets of Paris invaded by many dinosaurs. They will also live a 360° experience, entirely created by the artist himself, where they must ful ll the mission of bringing back an egg of Tyrannosaurus Rex to our current time. The public will be, on the other hand, in the front row of a mythical battle between a Triceratops and a T-Rex, disturbing the peaceful of « The Dinosaures Valley » installation.
Prehistoric Safari is the perfect opportunity to (re) discover the Jardin d’Acclimatation, and to live an original and unforgettable immersive experience for these Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Digital Art, Video-Mapping enables projecting images in very large format on facades, using and playing on the 3D volumes offered by the architectural support. Recently, this digital art has opened up a new artistic eld, at the intersection of photography, video, architecture and scenography.
With his team, the “street-artist” Julien Nonnon has became today a master in this eld and illuminates the walls of cities with his monumental digital frescoes. Thanks to this surprising digital Street Art, he brings to life works full of poetry and tenderness. His main projects “Urban Safaris”, “#Le_baiser”. Finally “Crying Animals”, where he approaches a new facet of this discipline, by making Neo-Parietal art, directly on the cliffs of the mountains.
