Comme des Garçons Homme Plus has teamed up with Fornasetti to create a strong and graphic selection of garments. These exclusive pieces were presented for the first time in Paris during the Spring-Summer 2017 Comme des Garçons Homme Plus show ‘Naked King’. This collaboration features tailcoat jackets enhanced by some genuine plastic elements, tailored jackets, matching pants and shorts as well as cotton shirts, all printed with Fornasetti artworks.
As Italian design and decoration company of furnishing objects, Fornasetti owes its artistic heritage to the work of Piero Fornasetti, one of the most creative talents of the 20th century. He produced over 13,000 decorations and a dreamy, colorful world rich in iconic images and full of irony and humor. Since the Eighties, Barnaba Fornasetti, the creative heart of the company, is the custodian of his father’s legacy, reissuing the most representative pieces and re-inventing new ones, always in tune with the tradition that began in the atelier in the 1950s, and always with a focus on fine craftsmanship.
For Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus, Barnaba has translated operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri’s face into a vivid polka dot, with a swipe of crimson lipstick.
The Comme Des Garçons Homme Plus x Fornasetti collection is on sale at Fornasetti store in Milan, Comme des Garçons, and Dover Street Market.
