Minimalist, Japanese-inspired startup MAMEHA (Sanskrit: “I am here”), delivers high-quality skincare with a unique gender- and ethnically-neutral design. The new ethical brand is launching a 7-day serums programme catering to everyone through a crowdfunding campaign starting from Tuesday, September 8th (2020) on Kickstarter.
Free of chemicals and preservatives, MAMEHA’s multi-functional serums contain naturally occurring compounds derived from the purest sustainable sources. Each unique formulation provides a specific daily treatment, holistically feeding all skin types in synergy for long-lasting health.
“I founded MAMEHA with the objective of creating a truly naturally derived skincare regime that would preserve and enhance our skin throughout our whole lifetime. I want us to feel and look healthy for as long as nature could potentially allow us to” claims Ila Colombo, MAMEHA’s founder.
Creating a restorative sensorial experience that stimulates body and mind wholeness, MAMEHA’s 7-day regimen is available through a monthly online subscription and delivered to consumers’ homes every 28 days.
Designed by visionary designer Ross Lovegrove, the packaging is manufactured with zero-waste thinking and made of 100% recyclable materials.
“Product packaging has always been a delicate subject for me because of its disposable nature, so I look towards art and technology to lift its sustainability with beauty and logic. The cosmetics industry produces billions of items a year, often made from pristine materials. The majority of these materials automatically become landfill and are rarely recycled. I believe there is a new opportunity here to rethink the model and that is why for MAMEHA, it’s been imperative to focus upon using the lightest, the most efficient and the most recyclable materials, designing with only the essential and minimum number of components that can be easily disassembled by hand. So, there are only 4 components using just 2 material technologies, scientific glass and polymer, in order to ensure that the serums are kept fresh and airtight at all times,” explains Ross Lovegrove.
Made with 80% less glass than the average container, the minimalist serums’ scientific glass and polymer bottles are easily recyclable and feature an innovative UV reflecting coating to ensure perfect preservation of the formulas. First orders will come with an innovative 3D printed accessory produced with Carbon Digital Light Synthesis™: a travel wallet, that also works as a home displayer, built with complex highly modern 3D printed elastomeric structures, which are aesthetically innovative and designed to last a lifetime.
Pioneering brand MAMEHA combines cosmetics, 3D printing technology and innovation in pursuit of its ethical missions of equality, environmental preservation and natural health, for a new journey into well-being.
