Aston Martin has once again raised the bar for in-car technology by becoming the first manufacturer in the world to debut Apple CarPlay Ultra, a next-generation integration that redefines the driving experience for iPhone users. Combining the iconic British marque’s performance-driven DNA with Apple’s cutting-edge interface, CarPlay Ultra delivers a seamless, customisable, and deeply immersive infotainment system.

Debuting on the DBX707, Aston Martin’s “Supercar of SUVs,” as well as the brand’s core sports car lineup—Vantage, DB12, and VanquishCarPlay Ultra offers real-time information across both the central touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. This marks a significant evolution from traditional CarPlay, allowing drivers to personalise their dash with bespoke dial designs, full-screen navigation, and media displays.

Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation, stating: “Our focus on world-leading performance extends beyond powertrains and craftsmanship. Collaborating with Apple to launch CarPlay Ultra underscores our dedication to delivering unique, high-tech experiences for our customers.”

The system integrates flawlessly with Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment platform, introduced in 2023 with the DB12. Developed entirely in-house, the system features a 10.25” Pure Black touchscreen with capacitive gesture controls while retaining tactile buttons for essential functions—striking the perfect balance between digital convenience and analogue precision.

Apple CarPlay Ultra extends beyond the infotainment screen, offering drivers the ability to tailor their instrument cluster with different themes, colours, and widgets. Maps, music, and vehicle controls—such as climate and radio—can be managed via touchscreen, physical buttons, or Siri voice commands, ensuring a distraction-free experience.

“iPhone users love CarPlay, and with CarPlay Ultra, we’re reimagining the in-car experience,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Product Marketing. “This next-generation system integrates deeply with the vehicle while preserving the automaker’s unique identity.”

Initially launching in the USA and Canada, CarPlay Ultra will be standard on all new Aston Martin orders from today, with an over-the-air update rolling out soon for existing models. The system requires an iPhone 12 or later running iOS 18.5+, with plans to expand to all global markets within the next year.
