The most striking feature of the cafe is its web-like canopy. Constructed from a network of interlocking steel components, this structure creates a captivating, almost otherworldly effect. The architects describe it as a “modern version of a flying buttress,” a design that not only provides a visually stunning canopy but also ensures the cafe’s resilience against earthquakes. The intricate steel framework supporting the mesh envelops the inner rectangular volume of the cafe, creating an intriguing interplay of light and shadow.
