Visage Clinic Reimagines Healthcare with a ‘Fresh’ and Feminine Interior Design

In the Spanish city of Vila-real, Castellón, a new kind of healthcare experience is taking root. The Visage Clinic, a practice specializing in dentistry and aesthetic medicine, has unveiled its new premises, a project masterminded by the local Vitale estudio. Departing from the often sterile and clinical aesthetic typical of medical spaces, the design introduces a disruptive concept: the “Fresh Clinic.” This approach aims to convey a sense of renewal, vitality, and dynamism, marking the beginning of a new phase for patient care that addresses both physical and emotional wellbeing.

The Visage Clinic’s waiting area embodies the ‘Fresh Clinic’ concept, combining powdery-toned curtains and warm-toned furniture to create a serene, domestic atmosphere.

The creative axis of the project draws unexpected inspiration from mid-20th century vacation architecture. The goal was to evoke a palpable sensation of freshness and calm, crafting an environment that encourages disconnection. This is achieved through an immersive experience built upon a thoughtful material palette of concrete, vegetation, tiling, and terrazzo—materials more commonly associated with spas and luxury resorts than with a doctor’s office. The space is conceived as a serene sanctuary, challenging preconceived notions of what a medical interior should be.

The material palette of nude-toned glazed tile and stone-textured terrazzo flooring ensures aesthetic coherence and durability throughout the clinic’s 170 m² footprint.

Despite its compact 170 m² footprint, the clinic accommodates a comprehensive program including a reception, waiting area with coffee corner, three dental rooms, and two aesthetic medicine rooms. A key feature of the interior design is the pursuit of spatial fluidity. This is masterfully achieved through the use of glass partitions with a gradient effect and powdery-toned textile curtains. These curtains function as both light filters and subtle space dividers, modulating privacy without sacrificing natural light or the feeling of spaciousness, creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere.

Artificial lighting is handled with a predominantly indirect and ambient approach to avoid glare and enhance visual comfort. This soft illumination is punctuated by decorative light fixtures with bold geometries, such as the Rigoberta pendants and wall lamps. These pieces add a playful and dynamic character to the clinic, reinforcing its contemporary and youthful brand identity. The treatment rooms are strategically placed along the perimeter to maximize the benefit of natural light, further connecting patients to a calming exterior environment.

The material palette is both aesthetic and pragmatic. A 15×15 cm glazed ceramic tile in a nude tone forms a neutral grid on the walls, balancing the clinic’s geometric forms with the sinuous lines of the furniture. The stone-textured terrazzo flooring acts as a unifying base, enhancing the sense of continuity and spaciousness. Selected for its durability and easy maintenance, especially in wet areas, the flooring ensures the clinic’s aesthetic remains coherent and resilient under high traffic, proving that beauty and functionality can seamlessly coexist.

Bold geometric lighting fixtures, like the Rigoberta pendant lamps, introduce a playful dynamic against a backdrop of soft, indirect ambient lighting.

Ultimately, the Visage Clinic project represents a significant shift in healthcare design. By carefully crafting a serene, feminine, and elegant atmosphere through architectural means, Vitale estudio has redefined the patient’s relationship with the medical setting. The result is a differentiating approach that positions Visage as a compelling alternative to traditional models. It stands as a testament to a new spatial identity that is approachable, contemporary, and wholly focused on the holistic care of people, perfectly aligning with the clinic’s philosophy of freshness, naturalness, and wellbeing.
