In a bold response to modern urban challenges, Munich-based Zanzotti Industrial Design has partnered with Berlin micro-mobility innovator Lemmo to launch the LEMMO ZERO – a game-changing foldable e+bike that collapses functional complexity into radical simplicity. Unveiled in Shanghai this June and destined for Europe’s Eurobike fair, this carbon fiber frame marvel weighs a mere 10.5kg and reimagines compact transit for dense cities.

The design studio’s signature clean aesthetic drives the ZERO’s architecture, where the folding mechanism isn’t an afterthought but the core principle. Its ultra-light laminated frame enables a folded size compact enough to fit inside a standard 28-inch suitcase – a feat achieved through relentless focus on portable design. The integrated 159Wh Smartpac battery doubles as a carry-on power bank (flight-approved) and extends the bike’s range to 40km, transforming it from a last-mile solution into a seamless bridge between cycling, public transport, and air travel.

Crucially, the NIO Edition deepens this ecosystem approach. Designed to integrate with NIO’s 4+2 smart mobility network, it syncs automatically with electric cars via onboard systems – sharing battery status and ride data while fitting effortlessly into vehicle trunks. This holistic micro-mobility vision positions the ZERO as more than a vehicle: it’s a visible statement in public space, blending robust functionality with unmistakable minimalist elegance.
“The tension between visual precision and utility gives the bike its dynamism,” notes the studio, highlighting how the electric drive compensates for small-wheel limitations. Under Christian Zanzotti’s direction, the project cements the studio’s leadership in sustainable urban transportation, merging material innovation (like featherweight carbon fiber) with user-centric flexibility.

Weighing just 12.5kg total (10.5kg ultra-light carbon fiber frame + 2kg battery), the LEMMO ZERO delivers a 30–40km range per charge, features a flight-ready 159Wh Smartpac battery that doubles as a power bank, and offers custom storage integration for seamless trunk-fit in NIO electric vehicles.
As cities demand adaptable transit, Zanzotti and Lemmo prove that intelligent design can turn constraints into breakthroughs – making the LEMMO ZERO a benchmark for the future of electric mobility.
