Nestled in the heart of Berlin‘s vibrant west centre, a new chapter unfolds for the T7 dental practice. Batek Architekten, the studio behind the original T7 design, has returned to craft a seamless extension – a dedicated prophylaxis practice that transcends the typical clinical experience. True to their established aesthetic, the architects have once again conjured an interior that feels less like a medical facility and more like a curated art gallery, a testament to their ability to merge functionality with striking visual appeal.

The client’s vision, a space that would serve not only as a working dental environment but also as a backdrop for their personal collection of art and design pieces, has been realized with remarkable finesse. This latest project, like its predecessor, showcases Batek Architekten’s signature blend of minimalist clarity and bold material choices.

A striking, floor-to-ceiling cube, sheathed in vibrant green acrylic glass, commands the centre stage. This luminous form, a direct echo of the yellow reception area in the original T7, acts as the practice’s nucleus, organizing the surrounding functional spaces. The architects have paid particular attention to the partition wall, crafted from glass fibre reinforced plastic, and the reception counter, sculpted from foamed aluminium. These elements, with their sculptural qualities, are more akin to contemporary artworks than mere architectural features.

To temper the cool, minimalist palette, Batek Architekten introduced warmth through the treatment room doors. Crafted from walnut wood and cathedral glass, these doors offer a subtle interplay of opacity and translucence. The unique glass, with its textured surface, provides a sense of openness while preserving patient privacy, and seamlessly complements the eclectic mix of new and vintage furniture in the waiting area.

Breaking the cohesive design narrative, the sanitary facilities are a bold departure, a plunge into a world of vibrant pink. Floor, ceiling, walls, and fixtures are all immersed in this singular hue, creating a striking visual punch that spills into the hallway through an open vestibule, adding a playful and unexpected accent.

Batek Architekten’s success lies in their ability to transcend the purely functional. The T7 dental prophylaxis practice is more than just a place for check-ups; it’s an immersive experience. The harmonious blend of contemporary design and classic elements, coupled with innovative material choices, creates an atmosphere that is both inspiring and reassuring. It’s a showing to the studio’s mastery of spatial concepts, their keen eye for colour and material, and their unwavering commitment to creating spaces that resonate on a personal level. In the bustling west centre of Berlin, Batek Architekten has once again redefined the dental practice, transforming it into a gallery of grins.
