Silverstone witnessed a groundbreaking moment in Formula 1 history and trophy design as The LEGO Group presented the top three drivers and winning constructor of the FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025 with the first-ever Formula 1 trophies crafted entirely from LEGO elements. This unique celebration marked the sport’s 75th anniversary at the legendary Silverstone circuit, the very venue of the first F1 World Championship race in 1950.
Following an electrifying 52 laps, McLaren Formula 1 Team‘s Lando Norris claimed victory, hoisting the impressive gold-adorned LEGO Trophy. This centrepiece, weighing over 2kg, is a remarkable feat of LEGO design, meticulously assembled from 2,717 LEGO bricks. Joining him on the iconic Silverstone podium were teammate Oscar Piastri in second place and KICK Sauber F1 Team‘s Nico Hulkenberg in third. Each driver celebrated with their distinct LEGO brick-built trophy held high. The winning constructor, McLaren Formula 1 Team, also secured their own bespoke dark blue and gold LEGO trophy for the team cabinet.
Inspired by the prestigious design of the current RAC (Royal Automobile Club) golden British Grand Prix trophy, these innovative builds represent a playful yet profound tribute to F1 heritage. Their creation underscores the ongoing multi-year partnership between the LEGO Group and Formula 1, dedicated to bringing immersive fan experiences and introducing the thrill of the sport to families worldwide through playful engagement.
Beyond the traditional gold cup, Norris received the substantial gold LEGO Trophy. Piastri’s second-place trophy featured white LEGO elements with red detailing, while Hulkenberg’s third-place award incorporated white bricks with blue accents. Each driver’s LEGO trophy offered a tangible, playful memento of their Silverstone achievement.

Designed by LEGO designer Samuel Liltorp Johnson, the trophies were brought to life by a dedicated team of seven builders from the LEGO Group model shop in Billund, Denmark, consuming over 210 hours of meticulous construction. The winning driver’s trophy and the constructor’s trophy stand at an imposing height of over 59cm, with the second and third-place trophies measuring over 43cm tall each. This scale contrasts yet complements the original 70cm tall RAC trophy.
Revealed at Silverstone prior to the race, the four trophies captivated onlookers. Fans attending the LEGO F1 Family Watch Party at Battersea Power Station in London were also treated to a close-up view of a replica winner’s trophy.
This innovative trophy presentation is the latest highlight in the LEGO F1 partnership, following activations like the ten fully drivable LEGO F1 cars featured in the Miami Grand Prix Drivers Parade and other global ‘Build the Thrill’ experiences throughout the 2025 F1 season, continuing to merge the worlds of playful creativity and high-octane motorsport.
