In Krasnodar’s thriving café culture, Biblioteka Coffee has carved a niche as a sanctuary for bibliophiles, vinyl collectors, and coffee connoisseurs. Their latest 66 sq.m outpost, designed by KIDZ Studio, reimagines the chain’s identity through a striking interplay of silence and sound. Architects Sasha Kabashnaya and Dasha Lebedeva orchestrate this core concept with contemporary finesse, targeting a younger audience while honouring Biblioteka’s philosophy of uniting books, vinyl, and specialty coffee under one roof.

The design transforms the space into a physical metaphor where calm meets rhythm. At its heart lies a daring juxtaposition: wood veneer softness contrasts with industrial metallic elements. This extends from sculptural planters to a repurposed mud grate suspended above the coffee machine as an unexpected art piece.

This tension defines the spatial dynamics. Panoramic windows invite natural light and street views, while lighthoxes and moody zones create intimate pockets for reflection. The studio’s collaborative lighting design casts a warm glow, beckoning passersby into a haven of tactile warmth and acoustic depth.

Functionality merges seamlessly with narrative. A curved bar counter—unprecedented in Biblioteka’s chain—anchors the entrance, establishing an instant focal point that guides visitors deeper into the café. Cleverly concealed within shelving units laden with books and vinyl, a hidden sliding dooraccesses the restroom, amplifying the sense of discovery. The most poetic touch? A subtle “trace of a vinyl needle” woven through the interior as a visual leitmotif, echoing the café’s sonic soul.

KIDZ Studio’s holistic approach ensured every detail serves comfort and cohesion. Furniture blends bespoke designs with local brands, while acoustic atmosphere prioritizes both guest relaxation and staff efficiency. The result is an immersive experience where opposites harmonize: silence lives in textured nooks for reading, while bold metallic accents and rhythmic layouts nod to vinyl’s vibrant energy. As dusk falls, the storefront emits a lantern-like radiance—a beacon of “calm and softness” in the urban bustle.
