As part of the redevelopment of the Carlo Carrà park, Italian artist Gue has transformed a 347-square-meter basketball court into a colorful piece of art titled ‘Playground’.
“The idea was born from the possibility of being able to cross the field’s space,” says Gue, “and to stay inside the composition and change the perception of shapes through the game’s movement. It was important to consider the schemes of the designated areas, necessary for the game, but at the same time it was necessary to feel free to interact with shapes and colors.”
According to Gue, the court was painted with a color palette reflecting the world of sport. Through the use of contrasting colors that divided the playground in specific areas, the court operates not only as a functional basketball field, but as an artistic experience enhancing the playing experience.
