Husqvarna has unveiled the Svartpilen 701 concept at the EICMA show in Milan, as a scrambler take on the 701 platform. The new Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 concept is the dark street explorer, inspired by the resurgence of the iconic flat track scene, packaged as a progressive single-cylinder motorcycle that is designed to deliver an authentic, pure and honest riding experience.
Its technologically advanced 4-stroke single-cylinder 692.7 cc engine is housed in an incredibly stripped down but progressive layout that offers excellent performance.
The Svartpilen 701 concept bike features glossy, jet black cast alloy wheels. The 18 inch front wheel is ready for urban exploration, while the 17 inch rear wheel efficiently converts the ample single cylinder power into a thrilling forward motion. Both wheels are covered by tyres that will deal with whatever unpredictable surfaces and conditions you encounter along the ride.
Husqvarna Motorcycles did not only focus on the design of the Svartpilen 701 concept, but also equipped it with modern, state-of-the-art technology. From the chromoly steel trellis frame to the powerful single cylinder motor, and from the proven WP suspension to the supreme Brembo brakes, the multitude of progressive features on the Svartpilen 701 concept contribute to the paradox that defines the simple timeless design of bike.
The Svartpilen 701 prototype features unique, almost flat light mask that pays homage to the flat track scene that inspired the initial design concept. The simplicity of the completely reduced control zone highlights the design intention for the rider to reconnect with the simple, raw and authentic riding experience that initially made motorcycling so attractive.
