Russian design duo Anna Strupinskaya and Alexey Ivashkevich have presented during Milan Design Week 2014 “Symphony”, a suspended lamp made out of silicone.
The concept of the chandelier explores the connection between light and sound waves and their resemblance. Light, colour and sound are visualized in 3 interlaced spatial ribbons. The ribbons of translucent silicone imitate rows of tubes that contribute to the perception of the musical instruments theme.
“We’ve continued our experiments with silicone as we love the translucency and color overlaying effects that this material provides. And it’s flexibility is important as well” the designers explained.
