Find all the best activities on the Gold Coast to make the most of your Queensland holiday.
Amusement parks
One of the best activities on the Gold Coast is a trip to the many amusement parks that call Queensland home. Head to one of the three water parks (Sea World, Wet’n’Wild, and WhiteWater World) or one of the traditional amusement parks (Warner Bros. Movie World and Dreamworld). Each park can be a whole day of fun, so plan your visits accordingly. (You can even get multi-day passes to several parks if that suits you better).
Australian Outback Spectacular
Journey to the rugged Australian outback without leaving the Gold Coast with the Australian Outback Spectacular. The Spectacular is a dinner-theatre experience like no other. Instead of wearing your finest evening wear you’ll fit in better wearing jeans and a wide-brimmed hat. Enter the building and enjoy a local beer at Bazza’s Bar before heading to the theatre to enjoy the meal and the show. You’ll see performers work with cattle dogs, horses, and birds to tell you a dramatic story of the outback.
Swimming, Surfing, and Boarding
If you go to the Gold Coast, you’ll want to check out the coast and the beaches. Some of the best activities on the Gold Coast are at the water. If you’ve never been surfing or boarding before, there are a lot of schools and classes to help you learn. Of course, if surfing and boarding isn’t your thing, just grab your swim gear, towel, and sunscreen.
Infinity
An immersive funhouse of lights, mirrors, and special effects is what you’ll find in Infinity. The labyrinth of light keeps you on your toes as you walk from one world to the next. A trip to Infinity is truly unique and an experience you’ll remember.
Shopping
There are a lot of places to go shopping on the Gold Coast, and one of the best shopping spots in the Pacific Fair shopping centre. The centre sits in the middle of a tropical landscape and has more than 400 shops within. You’ll also find several events held in the shopping centre to keep you entertained when you’ve shopped and finally dropped.
Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk
Stepping into a rainforest is always a memorable experience but walking in at canopy height offers a whole new perspective. The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk covers a total of 1.5km through 30 acres of rainforest. The walk is along strong, high-tech steel bridges and pathways so that even though you’re high above the ground, you’re perfectly safe. Look down at the plant life and winding creek below and see if you can spot any animals, maybe even a platypus or two.
