Xiaomi

Renowned French designer Philippe Starck has unveiled a full-screen ceramic smartphone, the Mi MIX, for Chinese tech company Xiaomi. Designed for the user, Mi MIX pushes every boundary for an unparalleled experience of easy grip and optimum listening, combined with minimal and innovative design. Like a piece of polished ceramic, smooth and elegant, the body of the Mi MIX has no edges and corners.

Curved on each side, his revolutionary full-screen has a beveled chamfer, an additional singularity to its disruptive appearance. Extended to the maximum, the use surface has no constraint. No buttons and no loudspeakers. The sound is conveyed through vibrations thank to piezoelectric ceramic technology.

“Designing smartphone is a new creative experience for me. It’s a beginning. To create today the smartphone of the future” says Philippe Starck.

Its 6.4” 17:9 custom display with an incredible 91.3% screen-to-body ratio is the highest on any smartphone in the world. Inside, the Mi Mix has the latest Snapdragon 821 chip that powers Google’s Pixels, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Looking at the status bar above, the Mi Mix seems to also have support for two SIMs, a popular feature in China, and Xiaomi also notes it has a 192Hz / 24-bit DAC chip for higher-resolution audio.
