Leman Locke is a new 168 room design-led aparthotel conceived by New York-based architecture and design firm Grzywinski+Pons for the new generation of travellers in the East London neighborhood of Aldgate.
Nestled between Whitechapel and the River Thames, and a mere 2-minute walk from the nearest underground tube station, Leman Locke is East London’s latest trend-setting sleep that combines youthful interior with an authentic experience. Staying at this community-oriented hotspot, where like-minded travellers flock to live like the locals, you’ll bed down in one of 168 apartments – all designed as stylish yet homely, pastel-toned homes-from-home, and complete with smart TVs, plenty space, and big windows letting in streams of natural light.
The designers have sought to move away from what they call the ‘transformer vibe’ apparent in plenty of current micro-residential products — think pull-down beds, retractable desks and flip up tables.
A feature staircase connects the café-bar area to a forthcoming restaurant space and, with a gym and meeting rooms located high up on the 21st and 22nd floors, Leman Locke is the ideal spot for design-conscious nomadic travellers for whom a bed and shower in a shoebox isn’t enough.
