Czech practice Mar.s Architects has recently refreshed the interiors of the steak restaurant Dock House in Prague‘s Kačerov neighborhood. The design team preserved the original elements such as wooden beams and brick walls, giving them a chromatic twist. The only elements that were kept from the original ‘boat’-style interiors are the wooden ceiling and beams – that have been coated in white paint – and the flooring, coated in a darker neutral paint. To give some warmth to the space, a selection of oak furniture wooden elements stand out from the monochrome interior, including the “Dry Ager”, a special cabinet where meat matures. The whole area is lit up by some touches of gold given by the ceiling lamp-shades, while the front wall is decorated with original graphics by Jakub Šejvl that refer to the origins of steaks.
