Nestled in the original part of Dvorce village in Prague‘s Podolí district, this land holds a special place in the hearts of the current owner’s family, who have called it home for generations. Aoc architekti took on the task of transforming a tired 1960s family house into a luxurious residential villa that exudes comfort and elegance.

The architectural design of the house revolves around creating a unique and captivating atmosphere. Every detail, from the interior elements to the connection with the surrounding garden, has been meticulously thought out. The studio plays with different forms of light, utilizing skylights, soft diffused lighting behind the semi-transparent façade, and contrasting twilight to create a visually stunning composition of the façade openings.

Aoc architekti also make use of natural materials, showcasing their colors and textures while ensuring practicality and maximum comfort in a refined living environment. The distinctive green-colored façade, made of fine scraped render, harmoniously blends with the lush vegetation that surrounds the house throughout the seasons.

The main living unit occupies the upper two floors of the house. Accessible through a welcoming wooden staircase with oak paneling, it exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The main living area, complete with cozy seating, a well-equipped kitchen, and a dining area, opens up to a spacious terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens.

This part of the house is bathed in a gentle twilight for most of the day, creating a serene ambiance. During the summer months, the living space seamlessly extends to the outdoors, allowing for a seamless connection with the garden. A green bathroom and a small utility room cater to the needs of the residents in this area.

The upper level of the house functions as a space for studying and relaxation, featuring a cozy fireplace and a large window that offers a picturesque view of the river. Additionally, it includes a concealed tea kitchen equipped with a refrigerator. The main area of this floor is characterized by a wooden ceiling and a grand studio window, which allows for various lighting effects that can transform the ambiance throughout the day. Adjacent to the studio is a separate private section that encompasses a bedroom, dressing room, and a stylish blue bathroom.

To optimize functionality, the house is furnished with custom-made built-in furniture that not only serves practical purposes but also conceals the entrances to the private areas of the residence. Specifically designed tables, crafted from polished solid tropical padouk wood supported by steel structures, were created exclusively for this house.

Furthermore, the interior design thoughtfully incorporates the client’s existing furniture, seamlessly blending the old with the new. Adorning the walls are captivating paintings by renowned contemporary artists such as Mikulka and Pisařík, as well as photographs showcasing the owner’s personal collection. Great attention was given to the design of the interior lighting fixtures, ensuring a harmonious and well-lit environment.

On the lower level of the house, there is a compact studio apartment that boasts its own terrace. As for the garden, it has been intentionally left to flourish in its natural state, with plans to introduce elements such as exotic fruit-bearing trees, a water feature, and even a vineyard.

This transformed residential villa is a testament to the harmonious blend of architectural brilliance, natural beauty, and comfortable living.
