Glasgow-based design studio Instrmnt has opened its flagship store in Trongate – a thriving district of independent stores, galleries and design practices within the city centre.
Alongside the brand’s debut watch range, Instrmnt 01, and their 2-speed city bike, Instrmnt 02, the store will carry a collection of products from Ajoto, Alice Made This, Campbell Cole, Folk, Edition Scotland, Hancock and Iona Brown. Additionally, a bi-annual selection of magazines curated in alliance with Invisible Bookshop will be available.
The store is open from 10.30am-6pm Wednesday-Sunday and is furnished with pieces from Vitsoe and Hay, with lighting provided by Folk. A bespoke daybed, designed by Instrmnt and Namon Gaston, acts as a focal-point.
“Creating a physical space for Instrmnt has been a really rewarding process – as a designer, it’s enjoyable to work on a new scale while applying the same values in our approach to interiors and architecture that we do to products,” said Ross Baynham, Director of Instrmnt.
“We have always seen Instrmnt about more than just building products, instead it is about creating an ethos and a lifestyle. We’ve curated a small selection of products from brands that we feel align well with our own vision, and the scope of those brands and products will grow and evolve organically over time,” added Pete Sunderland, Director of Instrmnt.
If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by Parnie Street for the opening on January 16.
