Soy Shape dipping dishes by Duncan Shotton

Duncan Shotton

Tokyo-based designer Duncan Shotton has designed a set of soy sauce dipping dishes that give the illusion of impossible three-dimensional shapes. Soy Shape are soy sauce dipping dishes that take your sushi eating experience and food presentation to the next level. Their irregular inner surface takes advantage of the natural colour gradation that occurs in soy sauce at shallow depths, to give the illusion of three-dimensional shapes once filled.

For a pledge of $20 USD, consumers will receive one dipping dish that are set to ship October 2016 to anywhere in the world. Customers can choose ‘Triangles’ or ‘Cubes’, both of which are made of Japan-grade ceramic in Gifu, Japan. Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, the Soy Shape dipping dishes take your sushi eating experience and food presentation to the next dimension.
