Nestled beneath the historic streets of Old Montreal, BOWIE is an exclusive supperclub that merges the opulence of 1980s London and New York with contemporary design precision. Designed by IVY Studio, this 3,000-square-foot subterranean venue is a masterclass in immersive interior design, offering guests a theatrical escape into a world of velvet, chrome, and moody allure.

From the moment visitors step through the discreet vestibule—adorned with botanical tapestries and a sculptural hostess counter—they are enveloped in an atmosphere of luxury and mystery. The absence of natural light is transformed into a virtue, creating a timeless, members-only ambiance reminiscent of international speakeasies. The space’s spatial choreography is deliberate: a central corridor divides the room, flanked by plush lounge seating, elevated banquettes, and a semi-circular mirrored loungeanchored by a tiger-print pouf.

Every detail at BOWIE is a testament to IVY Studio’s meticulous craftsmanship. The custom-made furniture—modular velvet couches in mustard and deep red, tiger-printed upholstery, and banquettes—exudes tactile luxury. The material palette is bold and unexpected: teal carpets, burgundy ceilings, and black velvet walls, all amplified by high-shine chrome and smoked-mirror columns. The bar, a monumental statement of layered red marble and brass insets, serves as the architectural centerpiece, crowned by a bespoke chrome tube light fixture that casts rhythmic reflections.

Lighting design plays a pivotal role in BOWIE’s seductive appeal. Indirect LEDs in recessed alcoves diffuse a warm glow, while mirrored surfaces multiply the luminosity for dramatic effect. Oversized red speakers pay homage to the club’s musical ethos, reinforcing the primacy of sound in this multi-sensory experience.

Beyond its aesthetic grandeur, BOWIE thrives on exclusivity. With a strict no-photos policy, the supperclub cultivates an air of secrecy, ensuring that every evening feels like a scene from an unwritten story. The Asian-inspired small plates and nightly DJ sets further elevate the experience, setting a new standard for immersive nightlife in Montreal.

Designed by IVY Studio and brought to life by Groupe Manovra, BOWIE is more than a venue—it’s a cultural statement. A place where privacy meets performance, and every detail, from the textured upholstery to the ambient audio, conspires to transport guests to another era. For those seeking elegance, spectacle, and discretion, BOWIE is Montreal’s newest must-visit destination.
