The Fruits Toilet Paper Packaging by Kazuaki Kawahara

Latona

Japanese designer Kazuaki Kawahara has re-imagined toilet rolls to look like tropical fruits. Kawahara conceived this idea from Japanese companies and stores, who often give a roll of toilet paper to customers as a novelty gift and a sign of appreciation. “I attempted to design that brings a smile to the face of anyone who sees it right away,” explains Kawahara. “And I tried to beautifully design the toilet paper to be used as a gift. I think that did not do anyone ever.”

The cylindrical toilet paper is wrapped with simple rectangular wrapping paper. Just wrapping it with the toilet paper stuffed into the center makes it possible to depict the cross-section of the fruit and create an overall three-dimensional feel. Even with the toilet paper wrapped in a messy way, they are designed to look beautiful, more authentic.

The Fruits Toilet Paper by Kazuaki Kawahara has been granted the famed Golden A’ Design Award at Packaging Design Award Category.
